Peace is commonly known as the opposite of war. Peace has different meanings; it could be used as a noun, interjection, and verb. It’s the normal, non-warring condition of a nation, group of nations, or the world. Or, it could also be an agreement between warring or antagonist nations or groups. It is to end hostilities and abstain from further fighting or antagonism. It is also the state of mutual harmony between two people or groups, especially in personal relations. Peace is what everybody wants to happen in the world because of violence that is happening in different part of the country like war in Iraq. Or, even within the family. Base on reports, the percentage of couples getting divorced every year in the U.S is increasing and many children are suffering from this. That’s why many people are really suffering from not having peace in their country, home, and even within themselves.
However, peace can always be obtained by any individual or nation. Peace is being from violence, and arguments. It’s also being in a quiet state, or putting things in order. So, two nations that are at war could have peace by simply doing a treaty or agreement to stop any violence. Or, if an individual is disturbed with problems, he or she could obtain peace only if he or she finds a solution to that problem. Or, if an individual has an enemy, to obtain peace between them, one should be humble and courageous enough to face and settle the problem. But sometimes peace is hard to achieve in a nation or in relationships between two people because of their pride. Pride doesn’t want peace because it always wanted to be on the top. So, if a person is prideful, peace will be very difficult to achieve.
So, if you want to have peace within yourself and within your family, you should be humble enough to find a solution to the problem you are facing and be ready to face the consequence. Peace is not impossible to obtain or achieve as long as one is willing to do what is need to be done to promote order and mutual harmony. Anyone could still live in peace even if they are surrounded by violence or they are a victim of broken family, as long as they are willing to make a change, peace can be obtained. It’s impossible to live peacefully as long as you don’t tolerate violence in your life or in your surroundings.
